THE REASONS for the GAP ARE
• Environmental protection is not a compulsory
subject in high schools
• School curriculums are heavily relied on the
majority content for the examination
OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCH PROJECT
• A long time field research among primary
schools in Viet Nam from 2015 to 2018
• Outlining challenges for teachers.
• Studying psychological factors of students.
• Exploring the way of building and the benefits
of using digital materials, developing a
environmental textbook for a long term
curriculum for high school students as well

PRIMARY FINDINGS
• Students are attracted by photo, images, videos,
games, teamwork and interesting contents.
• Integrated environmental education to English lesson
is legal without the permission from the education
department.
• Digital materials takes many advantages for teaching
and learning in terms of time saving, acquiring both
knowledge and content.
• Environmental textbook in English could be self
developed and taught in school depending on the
current curriculum
