Issues With Knowledge Aristotle’s theory is a solution to the problem of universals.  The problem of the universals is whether the universals exist.  Aristotle disagreed with Plato on his view of his theory of knowledge. They are 2 positions of the issue which are realism and nominalism.
Main Theory Aristotle Main theory was his theory of Universals. Aristotle believed that that there are no universals that are unattached to existing things Universals exist only where they are instantiated (which means they only exist is things) So according to Aristotle and his theory, the form of apple exists within each apple, rather than in the world of the form
Responding To & Different From Aristotle is  an empiricist.   Believed knowledge was based on experience. Aristotle  describes metaphysics  as, "the theory of being as being and of what 'to be' means." Aristotle had different theories from Plato.  Plato  was a  rationalist , viewing our knowledge of reality as derived from intuitive reason, while Aristotle was an empiricist, basing all knowledge of reality on experience
