SHINA LANGUAGE
PURPOSE OF RESEARCH
This study will identify the “problems in the
pronunciation of English consonants faced
by shina speakers”
RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
To find out the problems faced by shina
speakers while producing English
consonants
To explore the ways to overcome their
problems while uttering English
consonants
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
What are the problems of shina speakers
while uttering English consonants ?
What are the reasons behind their
problems while uttering english
consonants ?
How can they overcome their problem?
HYPOTHESIS
RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS
There is a significant difference between
the phonological features of English
consonants in shina speakers and native
speakers
NULL HYPOTHESIS
There is no significant difference between
the phonological features of English
consonants in shina speakers and native
speakers
SIGNIFICANCE
 This study will help a large number of
shina speakers, across GILGIT
BALTISTAN and Northern Areas of
Pakistan, speak English with correct
pronunciation.
This study will help in a whole generation
with authentic use of English language.
METHODOLOGY
It will be a Quantitative research.
POPULATION
All male and female students of higher
education institutes of GILGIT
BALTISTAN.
LIMITATIONS
This research will be limited only to the
karakrum international university of
GILGIT BALTISTAN (KIU)
It will be limited only to the English
department.
SAMPLE
It will be consisted of 50 students of KIU
RESEARCH TOOLS
Recording of speaker’s sample.
Research instrument (praat software,
version5.2.05) was used.
DATA ANALYSIS
 Quantitative analysis technique and
descriptive statistics will be used.
