  CREATING A NEWPROJECT • I have started by creating a new Photoshop project. I’ve named it ‘Official Poster’, in A4 and also in transparent.
• 3.
  FINDING A SUITABLEPICTURE • With the joint Dropbox account we created, we had a folder containing plenty of photos. The reason why I’ve picked this picture is because the ghost should be seen as the main dominant part of the poster as well as it is for the entire film.
• 4.
  BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST AND LEVELS DIFFERENCES •If you look at both of these screenshots, you there are clear differences between the two. Brightness/Contrast and Levels were used to make it look like how it is now. The picture now looks like some kind of orange/yellow mixed colour that has been darkened by lowering the brightness and contrast. For levels, more red and yellow has been added to the colour with less blue on the photo After Before

  USE OF THEBURN TOOL • The burn tool has been mostly used during the creation of this poster. The burn tool can darken something in a selected layer as if it has been burned, with the use of a black background it can act as some kind of shadow. This was what I did to make the poster look more of a professional, Hollywood-like, polished poster.
• 6.
  SLOGAN AND TITLEDESIGN • I’ve decided to maintain the house style of the poster in order to maintain consistency which can avoid confusion of the audience. Therefore, I have used the eyedropper tool to pick the same colour of the ghost and for it to be reflected towards the title, there were two main colours which were yellow and burgundy. Which were both applied to the text

  FILM RATING ANDAFFILIATIONS • At the bottom of the poster I have put a few associations of the poster with featuring my production title, ‘Cold Blood Productions’, and my magazine, ‘Extreme Film’, I have also put a film rating of “R” which according to America’s film rating system that under 17’s may need an accompanying parent or guardian. Adding these things can help the poster to look more genuine like a real Hollywood poster.

  PRODUCTION CREDITS ANDSOCIAL MEDIA PROMOTION • In every magazine poster, it is a convention to see credits in a small condensed font at the bottom of the poster, and this is what we have done mentioning every production role carried out by the members. • We have also put social media information for promotional purposes which doesn’t exist but serves its purpose to adhere to the convention
