This was an image I took today of myself, I just want to show what I might do with my double page article image. I positioned my hands high and open so I could add good effects to the hands (energy blasts).
I then selected the image I wanted from the background.
I cut the image
Pasted it into a new layer
I started erasing the background parts
This is close up of when I was erasing the background
This was it when I finally erased the background
I added a new layer for the background
I painted it black with the paint tool
I added ‘noise’ to create a star effect
I then added a gaussian blur
I then went to filter, other, threshold to make the white spots stand out more
I added more gaussian blur to make the stars look realistic
I went to offset
The ‘offset’ tool made the stars duplicate and it looked more vibrant
This was the final background image
I Indicated layer visibility of the first layer (the one of me)
I added glow balls with the brush tool, I had the brush as a soft brush to create realistic energy ball
I then went to filter, lighting effects
I added a ‘lens flare’ to look as if the balls were generating out of my hands
I then wanted to colour of the balls to be a blue or something vibrant, so I added a photo filter
This was it after I added a blue photo filter, it looked very realistic
I added a ‘ellipse’ shape with the ellipse tool
I then went to filter, wave to add a wave to the ‘ellipse’; it looked as if the balls were connected
This was the final image, I was very pleased with it. This is the sort of effect I want on my double page article image, so sort of light coming out of the models hands.
