Description:
Plumeria Obtusa, also known as the “Singapore Graveyard
Flower” or “White Frangipani” is native to the Bahamas and the
Greater Antilles in Central America. The name “Singapore
Graveyard Flower” was given when it was introduced to Hawaii
from Singapore in 1931 by Harold Lyon. It is widely cultivated
for its ornamental and fragrant flowers around the world.
Plumeria Obtusa is not an endemic species in Malaysia but
rather in Cambodia where the flowers are used as offerings to
the deities. The flowers of this species are borne in clusters and
have glossy leaves, obovate with blunt ends. For Plumeria
Obtusa to bloom well, the soil condition must be dry to medium
(6.6 to 7.5pH).
