Facebook was founded on February 4, 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg and others. It started as a social network for Harvard students and expanded to other universities. Facebook now has over 2 billion monthly active users who access it through mobile phones, desktops, laptops, and tablets. The company has acquired other popular platforms like Instagram and WhatsApp, and has a simple, easy to use interface with features like the News Feed, messaging, sharing, and following people and pages.

FOUNDING  Found on 4th February, 2004.  Facebook is an American online social media and social network service company based in Menlo Park, California.  The founders initially limited the website's membership to Harvard students. Later they expanded it to higher education institutions in the Boston area, the Ivy League schools, and Stanford University. Facebook gradually added support for students at various other universities, and eventually to high school students
USAGE & ACCESS  Mobile Phone  Desktops & Laptops  Tablets  Facebook’s theme and user-interface is simple and easy to use. It’s user-friendly layout has never had any complaints of complications.
MERGERS & AQUISITIONS  Bought Instagram for 1 Billion $ in April, 2012.  Bought Whatsapp for 19 Billion $ in February, 2014.  Aquired CrowdTangle in November, 2016.
