Let’s Practice
Making a Product Popular
The secret to sell a product is to make it popular. One way to make people talk about a
product is to advertise it in an unusual way. Some companies create funny, creative, or
surprising ads that make their merchandise memorable. Coca Cola is a good example of a
company that makes memorable ads. Another method companies use is to hire famous people
to market their products. For instance, they can have well-known singers, actors, or even
experts that recommend what they sell. Making Cristiano Ronaldo tell what the best soccer
shoes are will for sure have an impact on customers. One more way that companies use is to
connect a product with something familiar to the consumer. People will remember an item
more easily if they can link it with something they often see or like. For example, some food
companies try to connect their products with homemade food. A company may choose
different ways to advertise their products, but the objective is the same: make them popular in
order to sell more.
