INTRODUCTION TO ROBOTICS
The branch of
engineering, includes
CS, mechanical and
electrical engineering.
Process of
designing,
creating and using
robots for a task
Study of robots.
BY MARYAM RASHID KHAN
WHAT ARE ROBOTS ?
Robots are mechanical intelligent agents which
can perform tasks on their own or with guidance.
INTRODUCTION TO AUTOMATION
Process of using physical machines, computer
software and other technologies to perform tasks
that are usually done by humans.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ROBOTICS AND
AUTOMATION
BY ZAIN UL ABEDIN.
It can be made to do different jobs at different
times in sequence by programming.
Can be re-programmed to change the
sequence of task.
Uses sensory feedback to re-program path, if
necessary.
Performs jobs only in designed sequence.
Is often set to perform certain tasks.
Does not have sensory feedback to re-program
the predetermined path.
It has intelligence and is knowledge based.
Adopt changes in the environment; if we
change the environment it can adopt easily.
It is neither knowledge nor intelligent base
Can adopt a little change in environment
but not completely
SCOPE AND APPLICATION OF
ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION
By Daud Ahmad
SCOPE AND APPLICATION
• There is a wide scope of
automation and robotics.
And it is not possible to
discuss all applications at
very short time.
• It would not be wrong to
say that robots are doing
more work as compare to
humen to fulfill our
requirements.
SCOPE AND APPLICATION
• Lets discuss few applications of Robotics
and Automation:
• Overview:
INDUSTRIAL ROBOTS
DOMESTICAL ROBOTS
MILITARY ROBOTS
EXPLORATION ROBOTS
INDUSTRIAL ROBOTS:
 These robots bring into play in an
industrialized manufacturing atmosphere.
Typically these are articulated arms
particularly created for applications like :
 material handling, painting, welding and others.
DOMESTIC ROBOTS:
 Robots which can be used at home for certain
purposes. These robots are of different types
which are use for different home tasks.
 Robotic sweepers, Robotic vacuum cleaners,
Robotics Voice Assistants and other robots can
perform different household tasks.
MILITARY ROBOTS:
 The military has always been at the cutting
edge of technology, so it should come as no
surprise that the most advanced robots in the
world are being built with military applications
in mind.
 Robots brought into play in military & armed
forces. This type of robots consist of bomb
discarding robots, various Spy robots,
exploration drones.
EXPLORATION ROBOTS:
 Exploratory Robots can do many tasks depending
on the environment its traveling to, like the
mars robots or curiosity and collect data on the
undiscovered world. They are used to explore
places those where man cant safely go like in
space, oceans, and others.
ADVANTAGES AND DIS ADVANTAGES OF
ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION
BY MEHAK IRFAN
ADVANTAGES OF ROBOTICS
 COST EFFECTIVENESS
 IMPROVE QUALITY ASSURANCE
 INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY
 WORK IN DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT
DIS ADVANTAGES OF ROBOTICS
JOB LOSSES
INITIAL INVESTMENT COST
HIGH EXPENDITURE ON DAMAGE
CONCLUSION AND CLOSING
BY M. ALTAF MUNIR.
Today we found most robots working for people industries,
factories ware houses and laboratories. Robots are useful in
many ways. For Instance, it boots economy because
businesses need to be efficient to keep up with industry
competition. Therefore having robots help business owners
to be competitive, because robots can do their jobs better
and faster than humans can , e.g. robot can build, assemble a
car. Yet robots cannot perform every job; today robots role
include assisting research and industry. Finally, as the
technology improves, there will be new ways to use robots
which will bring new hopes and new potentials.
