STRENGTHS • The editing in this video is really interesting, as loads of special effects and filters have been used to keep the audience’s attention on the music video instead of just the music. • The lip syncing has been done pretty well in this video, as the actor they have used is clearly very confident on camera. • There are elements of narrative, but not the whole story, getting the audience to think about the video, meaning they are interacting with it more. • There are performance parts, which is key for music videos.

WEAKNESSES • One of the only weaknesses in this video in that they have repeated a lot of their footage, making me think that they could have been a bit more imaginative, or that they did not film enough before they started editing. However this is covered up by the interesting editing done post production. • There is no link between lyrics and visuals, which is not essential for music videos, but helps to make amateur music videos (like we’ll be making) easier.
- 4. INFLUENCE ON MY IDEAS • Their use of editing in this music video has helped me think about the editing and effects I could use in my own music video. The colour manipulation and filters they have used has helped make their amateur A level music video look more professional, as recently a lot of artists have started using these kinds of effects in their own videos. I would like to use similar techniques to make my music video look more professional • I also really liked some of the camera movements and angles used in this video, and think that this is a good way to make a music video more stimulating.
