 Invited as a contributor towards the
review of the African Youth Charter
Miss Phatsimo Mosimanegape is employed as an Internship, Placement &
Entrepreneurship Development Officer at Botho University. Phatsimo Mosimanegape is a
very passionate International Development Advocate and is especially interested in areas of
Youth Centric Employment Creation, Entrepreneurship, Democracy and Governance. She
has an educational background on Public Administration and Economics (Social Sciences).
She has manipulated different platforms to ensure that Botswana’s position is presented to
the rest of the world. She has over the years, through her interaction with other young
people from all over Africa, developed an unceasing thirst to educate fellow young Batswana
on global issues that directly affect them as global citizens.
Ms. Mosimanegape has experience working with different NGOs both locally and
internationally. She has worked with Youth for Life (YOLI) which focuses on educating young
people on issues relating to HIV & AIDS and promoting Behavioral Change. She contributed
to this organisation as a Treasurer and later became its Deputy Chairperson. She has also
been in Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development (YALDA) where she has contributed
as a Conference Organizer both in Botswana and in Nigeria where she assisted in the YALDA

Conference and the “Adopt an Idea” event where young entrepreneurs pitched ideas to
potential investors; Botswana Executive Director and part of the International Committee.
Phatsimo also works closely with the African Union Political Department through the African
Governance Architecture that promotes African youth participation in governance, elections
and development.
She has also spearheaded initiatives such as the Voice Africa’s Future Campaign where she
was working with different organisations all over the country to mobilize African Youth to
add their voice to the formulation process of the Sustainable Development Goals which is
known as the Post2015 Development Framework. In this initiative she forged relations with
different companies including Yarona FM and Orange Botswana. She currently is working
with the Action2015 Global Hub as a Country Focal Person. Action2015 is a global movement
encouraging civic engagement in ending poverty, tackling inequalities and avoiding
dangerous climate change.
Phatsimo has also worked with other young people in the country; she co-organised the first
of its kind Young Professional Forum and has been part of the UNESCO National Youth
Committee and has worked closely with the Botswana National Youth Council as an affiliate
subcommittee member and the UNFPA Botswana as a youth representative. She was also
appointed as one of the Advisory Board Members of the Botswana Youth Portal
(www.botswanayouth.com). She is an aspiring Entrepreneurship & Organizational
Innovation Consultant and is working on her goal to establish an entity that will employ
thousands and transform the future generation of Africa.
