- 1. Problem Statement Need a way to show students and employers the value, breadth, and depth of sustainable energy studies for training across varied technical areas and for tackling important societal and environmental problems.
- 2. Prototype #1 “Create Educational Video on Sustainable Energy Projects & Opportunities” Working with a film production company, we have already done a video project using kids to produce animation videos for sustainable energy in Hawaii. The film company, Royer Studios, has pioneered the approach which is called “Animate Your Learning.” Videos can be viewed at http://www.royerstudios.com/Hawaii_Student_Films.htm The challenge is to produce a video that will reach the broader audience required for the Problem Statement, i.e. all stakeholders: students, employers, academics, politicians, etc. Additionally, the video needs to reach an international audience. Prototype: We will be making a series of video on sustainable energy targeting three areas that will each the full range of stakeholders: • Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) • University-led laboratory research and real-world technology demonstrations • Technology development & product commercialization • Insert Story Board

Prototype #2 “Fund a Sustainable City Project in Every Country” We have already initiated this approach in Thailand by partnering with Chiang Mai Rajabhat University and various co-funding organizations. The project is described in the video at link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtR0TvlHC6M&sns=em The challenges now are (1) how to decide where to go next; (2) what technologies and scales to do next; (3) how lower costs for each future project; and how to make certain all projects are effectively linked to maximize learning, experience and technology development. Proposed solution: AREC to evaluate and select sites, draw in supporters. Link all sites with video and real-time data collection.
