- 1. Q6: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT? During the construction process of my product, the technologies of which I have learnt are: Adobe After Effects Adobe Photoshop Camera
- 2. 8 months I have been studying media I have learnt and developed many of the above skills, especially with cameras, and Adobe Software such as Photoshop and After Effects, I have learnt how to create titles (Key Element), I have also learnt how to edit footage with CGI elements, such as showing my main character to have elemental abilities. I also learnt minimal things such as zooming properly with a camera and focusing the camera so the footage does not seem to be blurry, mostly the internet thought me the things I know about adobe, but I was also helped by other people on my course.

Camera work In the terms of camera and camera angles I have learnt a lot, from working out how to simple focus a camera to including complex camera angles and shots into my work, for example at the beginning of the course I learnt about match on action, 180 degree rule and shot reverse shot, since then I have learnt about much more such as how high angles can be used to show superiority and how low angles can be used to show the lack of power within a character.
- 4. Adobe Photoshop All the software I have used in order to make my title and opening sequence have been made by Adobe, for example I used Adobe Photoshop to create my production company name (J.Q. Arts.) also to create the logo for my film (Key Element) and to create the elemental effects for my titles (A Jakey Quinn film) I learnt that I was able to even add elemental effects to my titles via changing the blending mode on an image so it blended with the text. This is basically it for what I used Photoshop for as I went on to learn that After Effects has most of the same features plus more so I started using that a lot more plus it was very useful for editing video.

Adobe After Effects So I then went on to use Adobe After Effects to create my titles for my film such as “Starring Ben Fellows” these were first made in After Effects and so on, The thing I used it most for was to edit the footage for my title and opening sequence by adding both sound effects allowing me to make my film seem more professional as I was able to cut out audio of which did not need to be there via a small toggle on each layer that made it so that layer had sound or not and having it there did not make the film seem clean and special effects, such as Nathan’s elemental powers as without it my character would have his hands in the air and the audience would not understand why he is doing it. The way I did my special effects was by creating several null objects via After Effects null object feature and added animation and colour to them to make them come across as more realistic, due to the fact of these objects needing the move. I went on to use After effects motion tracking feature, in order to do this I had to film my footage with tracking dots on both of the main characters hands, by tracking these points it allowed the null objects to successfully follow the main characters hands.
