- 1. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
- 2. • To construct this project I had you used a range of different technologies. • Firstly I had to learn how to use imovie, at first when doing the preliminary I learnt the basics which were just like adding credits, cutting clips down and putting them together. This was all good practice when in my opening sequence I went on to add sound and transitions. • Next, I had to use a camera. I've never used a video camera before so I had to learn how. It was relatively simple however, there were a few issues of pressing the wrong things and not knowing if its filming or not. The preliminary was good practice for my opening sequence. • We also had to create our own blogs. I thought this would be easy but it was more complicated than I first thought. I can put pages on there and post my written work easily its just putting things like videos from youtube and power points I still struggle with. • Overall from using these technologies I definitely feel that my skills have developed. However, I still feel that I’m at a very basic level even though this is an improvement on how I was before. I think to improve I may need to watch some video tutorials and have a practice on it in my own time.
- 3. • There was one limitation I had which was not being able to do a focus pull. I thought that it would display skill and also make it fit well into the gritty realism genre but the camera wouldn’t do it. Therefore, I had to change a few things around and include a different shot. I think overall it worked well but it would have worked well to have a focus pull in there so the audience could understand where the characters were looking easier. • I think the whole project is based around the use of technology. Each different technology I used was important. If we didn’t have technology then we would have been able to construct our opening sequences. Imovie made putting the clips together, adding sound and basically constructing the whole thing easy. However, the blogs were the hardest part for me when he have to put videos on there. • I have learnt that technology is really important in the production and editing of an opening sequence. I think to create a good piece of work you have to be comfortable with using the technology. I discovered in particular that doing re-takes are really important, if I had done more re-takes I think my opening sequence would of bee of better quality. Also, I think that creating a plan is important and also giving yourself time to get comfortable with using things like imovie and the camera to ensure your opening sequence is of the best standard.
