Letter of Recommendation for: Ms Julie Jackson
I had the opportunity to work with Ms Jackson on a recent multi site ERP Oracle
upgrade project for a major integrated Nickel alloy manufacturer. Ms Jackson was
the Project Manager for the largest and most complex of the manufacturing sites.
Ms. Jacksontook on the assignment after the sudden departure of the previous
project manager for the site. The team was disorganized and demoralized when
Julie took over the project. It is a fair assessment to say that this was a troubled
project with significant barriers that had to be addressed when Julie took over the
project.
In short order, additional structure was developed and implemented. Expectations
were clearly communicated to team members and personal accountability was
established. Individual and project metrics were installed and monitored. During
this period it was necessary for Julie to deal with both team members who were not
performing to expectations and to motivate and energize the high performers. Julie
demonstrated outstanding skills in both of these difficult tasks. As a result of her
leadership a more effective team evolved and the project regained momentum.
During her tenure as Project Manager Julie was faced several very sensitive and
difficult challenges, including the need to rework foundational set up work done
incorrectly under previous management. Upon discovery of this major foundational
problem Julie immediately communicated the status to all key Management
personnel and implemented an “all hands” attack to correct the problems. It is this
type of positive action in the face of adversity, the willingness to candidly
communicate status ( evenwhen it is bad news) and the lack of “fault finding” that
make Julie stand out as an exceptional leader.
It only takes a short exposure to Julie’s work ethic and commitment to achieving the
best outcome possible for the customer to appreciate Ms. Jackson as an outstanding
leader, with strong organizational, communication and technical skills. Julie is able
to keepthe client’s needs in focus while protecting the commercial interests of the
contractor. Ms Jacksonis an asset to any project.
