Analysis of the 5 Step Track Start
Researched elements that factor into a person’s start including weather conditions, types of track surfaces
timing systems, and so forth. Focused on the athlete’s first three steps out of the blocks, and broke the
three steps of movements into five different steps. Analyzed every muscle group used and position the
body relative to the ground.

Management intern under Ed Cahill in Buena Vista, VA Summer 2015
- Hours: 300 hours (still working internship)
- Responsibilities include: main job was to come up with a system to evaluate the stop signs in the
city in order to determine what signs need to be replaced. I was also tasked with giving each sign
a rating on the scale of one to five, with a five being a brand new sign.
- Other responsibilities include: doing invoices, making copies, creating guidelines for the pool to
follow, etc.
Sports performance coach volunteer under Eric Wheeler in Buena Vista, VA. Summer 2015

- Responsibilities include: observing the groups body language and technique during workouts,
leading parts of the workouts, offering encouragement to the group during the workout.

- Shadowed for a day at UVA Speed Clinic, Charlottesville, VA. There I was able to watch a gate
analysis done on a cross country division one runner and see how they used this to find out the
root cause of his injury.
- Shadowed for a day at a free clinic and I got to see how the side of medicine works for everyday
people who can’t afford insurance.
Athletics:
- Throughout my college career I have competed on the highest level against the best competition
my sport can offer, which is the Division one level. I have also competed on the division 2 level
being a two sport athlete in track and field and swimming. I also competed two years unattached
where I trained on my own competing in meets as an individual just so I could make it to the top
level before the end of my college career.
