It all began in 1905 when Paul Harris, a Chicago Attorney, formed the Rotary Club of
Chicago where professionals from diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form
meaningful and lifelong relationships

it wasn’t long before the Club decided to include Charitable work in their activities and
amongst the first project was the provision of public toilets in downtown Chicago.
Rotary’s impact on Health and Wellbeing is well grounded.

Coffee growers in Coche, Ethiopia are part of a Micro credit scheme
developed by the Rotary Club of Keswick. It helps them become more
independent and has encouraged the development of Fair-trade status for
their crops

A School bus for disabled Children in Mangalore
Rotarians in Mysore run this school in the city
Children in a rural school in Cumbria, England receive First Aid and CPR
training as part of a Rotary funded project.

Foundation to support the provision of Community based Defibrillators. The
project also included funding for equipment for our Search & Rescue Teams
