Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan
Science 7- Ruby, Diamond and Emerald
Content/Topic
Fungi, Protists and Bacteria
Content Standard
-The learners demonstrate an understanding of organisms that can be only seen
through the microscope, many of which consist of only one cell.
Performance Standard
- The learners should be able to employ appropriate techniques using the
compound microscope to gather data about very small objects.
Learning Competencies/ Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners must be able to:
1. recall the concept of small minute living organisms and
2. identify beneficial and harmful microorganisms
Subject Matter

B. Time Allotment:
1 hour
C. Instructional Material:
 Chalk and Chalkboard
 Laptop
 Visual Aids
 Flash Cards
 Science Journal
 Activity Sheets
D. Teaching Strategy
 Discovery Learning- The teacher will let the learners discover the
concept of the different types of fungi, protists and bacteria.
 Draw and Tell- The students draw some types of fungi, protest and
bacteria in their science journal.
 Jumbled words- The students will guess what the jumbled words
showing by the teacher.
E. Key concepts
-Fungi; eukaryotic cells, mostly multicellular organism
- Algae; aquatic organism
- Protist; eukaryotic organisms that are unicellular and sometimes colonial
-Bacteria;small living things that can cause diseases.
F. Process skills:
- The students will think and guess the jumbled words given by the teacher.
- The teacher will draw some representative of fungi, protest and bacteria in
their science journal.
G. Values Integrations
- The students will write a short reflection on the topic on how are we going to
prevent the spread of diseases due to this fungi, protists and bacteria.
Learning Activities/ Procedure
Teacher’s Activity Learner’s Activity
Preliminary Activities
- Greetings
- Opening Prayer
- Class Preparations
Recalling - The students will recall the
past lessons on the topic of
cells.
Motivation
-The teacher presents the jumbled words
related to the fungi, protists and bacteria.
- The students will guess the
jumbled words.
Presentation of Objectives
The teacher will present the lesson
objectives.
At the end of the lesson, the learners must
be able to:
1. recall the concept of small minute living
organisms and
2. identify beneficial and harmful
microorganisms
- The students read the lesson
objectives.
Lesson Proper
The teacher gives the overview of the
lessons on fungi, protists and bacteria. The
advantage and disadvantage of this minute
living organisms.
The teacher will let the students draw the
representative of every minute living
organism in their science journal and
present it in the class.
- The students finish the task.
Assessment
In the ¼ sheet of paper.
How beneficial and harmful the minute
living organisms?
Synthesis/Realization
- The teacher asks students
what they have learned for
today’s lesson.
- The students answer the
assessment.
Enrichment Activity
- In their science journal,
write a short reflection
depicting the advantage and
the disadvantage of these
microorganisms.
