Editor's Notes

  • #3: In Progress.
  • #6: Gillian Rose: Theme of the publication: importance of the visual in contemporary Western societies, sets out analytical framework for understanding how images become meaningful and offers criteria for a critical approach to visual materials
  • #9: GradCAM: Ideal platform to introduce my topic to peer led discourse for review thereby establishing peer reviewed credibility for the project before presenting to a wider audience. Through network events orgainized by GradCAM I will gain access to a valuable network of relevant researchers which will substantially support and strengthen my research project. IMA: Organization that promotes and encourages the improvement of museums and museum practice nationwide. ICOM: I am a member of the local branch of the International Council of Museums, which is based in Paris. ICOM is a network of more than 28,000 museum professionals of all disciplines, working in 137 countries all over the world. GAA Museum: I continue to work a few hours in The GAA Museum in order to maintain an affiliation with a museum organisation, continue working in a museum environment and apply theories and frameworks to exhibitions and research that are outside of my case studies.
  • #10: I am lucky in that my research topic has alot of relevant events and conferences at the moment- many of which are local (in Dublin) and free of charge. Obviously I will be attending conferences outside of Ireland (University of Cardiff in June and University of Leicester in July). *EVENTS CALENDAR*
  • #11: I presented at the network’s annual conference in 2015 at Columbia University, New York. There are two more CFP that have been brought to my attention in the past week so I will work on proposals also.
