- 1. Name: Sandra Cash ID# 971382 Date: September 21, 2010 SPE1075 Critique In this critique I will analyze how I delivered my first speech on Seeptember 10 2010 at Crown college. I will analyze what I accomplished effectively when I delivered my speech. Then I will look at what I need to improve to become a more efficient speaker. The goal of this critique is to see what I accomplished as the speaker and what I need to improve to become a more efficient speaker. The first thing that I accomplished when I was delivering my speech was that I was very organized. Because I was very organized when I needed to look at my notes no one noticed that I was looking at them while I was picking up the item I was about to talk about. The second thing that I did well was I accomplished my purpose of the speech. Now those people know more of who I am then just recognizing my face. The third thing that I did well is that I did not look as nervous as I felt. There are a few things that I feel I need to improve on in order to become a better speaker. The first one is I need to talk louder I noticed while watching my speech it is a little hard to hear me. It doesn’t help that I was in a some what noisy room, but even when it was quiter I had a soft small voice. The second one is I need to look at the whole audience. While giving my speech I noticed that I was only focusing on one person, when I need to focus on the whole audience. Lastly I need to speak slower, some of my words where a little hard to catch at the beginning of the speech because I was talking too fast. In fact when I was practicing this speech I timed myself at taking 2.36 seconds where when I gave the speech it seemed to take me half that time because I was speeking too fast. The goal of this critique is to analyzed how I delievered my first speech. To point out what I accomplished as the speaker, and to see what I need to improve to become a better and efficient speaker. Through this critique I now know what I need to improve and what I accomplished.
