The document presents a novel authentication and key agreement scheme called SEPS-AKA for LTE-A networks, which addresses vulnerabilities in existing EPS-AKA protocols, particularly the problem of transmitting the International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) in clear text. This scheme utilizes public key cryptography and nonce-based challenge messages to enhance security without altering the existing LTE-A infrastructure. Evaluation results indicate that the proposed scheme effectively meets the security requirements of LTE-A subscribers, including privacy, authentication, confidentiality, and integrity.
