Applications  Mobile DBS reception – Makes use of vehicle antenna for DBS reception. Vehicle antenna refers to an antenna system that is mounted on a mobile unit for satellite communications. Designed for cars, trains, ships and airplanes.

EMS Airborne Ku band antenna This Airborne Ku-Band high data rate receive antenna system supports real-time satellite data reception and live multi-channel satellite TV reception. Installed on aircraft operated by JetBlue and Frontier Airlines to provide live satellite television to passenger seats, with up to 24 channels of satellite TV programming.
Defense Applications Using Electronic steering and shaping of a beam - beam shape and direction can be digitally controlled by a computer within a matter of tens of milliseconds.  Such beam agility makes it possible for one phased array radar to act as multiple radars each with its own beam shape and scan pattern! The same radar can be tracking for airborne threats using one beam shape and scan pattern while searching for ground targets using another beam shape and scan pattern.
Rajendra Radar  Rajendra  is a phased array radar developed by DRDO of India and under production at BEL.  Automatically detects up 64 targets. 4000 main phase arrays. 1000 command arrays 60 Km range for aircrafts. Command guidance of missiles.
How it works
How it works.. Using the phased array mechanism  We get the multiple beams and which are used to track different targets.
The Russian NIIP N-011M Bars radar fitted on the Su-30MKI and the NIIP Bars-29 radar proposed to be fitted on the MiG-29M2 being offered to the IAF are examples of phased array radars.
TRMM Precipitation radar Tropical Rainfall measuring Mission The Precipitation Radar was the first space borne instrument designed to provide three-dimensional maps of storm structure. •  Size: 2.4x2.4x0.5 m •  Antenna type: Slotted wave-guide •  Scan: Phased array •  Operating frequencies: 13.6 GHz •  Swath width: 245 km (Ku-band) •  Horizontal resolution: 5 km
Connexion by Boeing The Connexion by Boeing service involves satellite communication between ground stations and a number of aircrafts. Real-time, high-speed Internet, email services to trans-Atlantic flights linking Frankfurt and Washington, Each Forward link – 5-10 Mbps Each return link – 1 Mbps Receive band: 11.2GHz – 12.8GHz Transmit band: 14.0GHz – 14.5GHz
