SMART goals are syntax
characters to make it easier to
remember the correct target
attribute. The first to use this
term is Dr Jorge Duran in an
article in a magazine. This
term is used in the setting of
targets at both companies,
projects, and even individuals.
Word SMART vehicles from
the first letters of words:
Specific, Measurable,
Attainable, Relevant, Timely.
In this article you will learn the
meaning of every word of
those words, and how to set
goals that are eligible for
smart goals.
Exploring the word SMART TARGETS
The first word: SPECIFIC or any that you have clear visualization
of the target in all its aspects. And may help you in the use of the
following questions: what is it that you want to achieve? Why do
you want to achieve? How are you going to achieve? Who will
help you achieve? Where will work to achieve the goal?
Second word: MEASURABLE or quantifiable and objective
measurement is intended here, or measure the degree of
achievement, that is your goal measurable quantity. For example
when you get an excellent rating in college or at work, this
achievement can be measured by 90 to 100%. And if your goal is
finishing reading a book of 100 pages, when you get to page 50
you know you cut half way.
Third word: ATTAINABLE or achievable goals are impossible to
verify, it is impossible at all contrary to the natural physical rules,
some of which is impossible because of your existing data. For
example, if the person said he's going to jump from the tallest
Tower in the city, and his white supremacist flag to fly, you can
say that this is absolutely impossible. And if somebody said that
his goal is to reach the city of Riyadh from Dammam (distance
between approximately 400 km) in one hour by car, too, is
impossible. But if the same person said he was heading to the
airport at this moment to reserve a seat and travels by plane in
an hour, this is impossible because the data available to him.
Might go and finds a vacant seat and be able to access, but this
will only happen rarely.
So when I set a goal that should be possible logical
objectives generally, too, must be your own or your
abilities are consistent with that goal.
Fourth word: RELEVANT or important goal you have
goals for fun or to prove something to others. Those
objectives that were not linked to the main goal or a goal
leading to him they are smart objectives, and put her
and her works are a waste of time and effort.
Fifth word: TIMELY or frame frame means to set
yourself a target action begins, which ends your work
time. This point is important, they force you to see the
time necessary to finish work on the target. When you
begin to notice the times you need your projects, you'll
realize the value of time and then enter in your agenda,
but works that deserve to be in it. An example of an
intelligent and smart goal: when you say to yourself:
"easing off this weight goal is intelligent, but when you
say:" my goal is to keep the sport to lose weight by 15
pounds before the end of the next two months, "this
clever goal contains all five elements.
