INTRODUCTION
What is Social Environment?
Social environment of business means the
factors which affects business socially. Every
business works in a society, so societies
different factors like family, educational
institution, religion affects business.
What is cultural environment?
A cultural environment is a set of
beliefs, which is very close to us
that is living within a certain
population.

 Recreation/Entertainment
A group of words or ideas
having common meaning
and is shared to a social
situation is called language.
Language is the entrance to
a culture.
Language
Shelter is another
element of socio
cultural environment.
The state of beying
covered or protected.
Shelter
The things that people wear
to cover the bodies. Clothing
is what you wear like
sweaters, shirts, pants,
dresses and so on. It is
another element of socio
cultural environment.

An economic system is a
system of production,
resource allocation and
distribution of goods and
services within a society or a
given geographic area.
Economic
Religion is considered as a
socially shared set of beliefs,
ideas and actions that relate to a
reality that cannot be verified
empirically yet affects the course
of natural and human events-a
way of life around people’s
ultimate concerns.

Education significantly affects the
lifestyle of a population of any
country in the world, the way of
their thinking, their attitude toward
work etc.
Education
Values are the ideals and beliefs that
guide the way people live. Values are
the principles that help a man to decide
what is right and wrong, and how to act
in various situations.
Values
Laws are the rules made and enforced by
the government of a country. Law is a
system of rules that are created and
enforced through social or governmental
institutions to regulate behaviour.

Entertainment is the action of providing or
being provided with amusement or
enjoyment. When something is done for fun
or relaxation, it is called entertainment. It
is an event, performance or activity to
entertain others.

 Most fundamental characteristics of culture:
Culture is always a product of human
behaviour:
Culture is hard to define because it is at
every level of our existence. Family,
school, society, religion - all of these things
are happening at the same time, pulling us
in so many directions.

It is always transmitted though
learning:
Culture learning, also called cultural
transmission, is the way a group of
people or animals within a society or
culture tend to learn and pass on
information.
 Most fundamental characteristics of culture
(Cont.):
It always gratifies human needs:
Culture gratifies human needs culture's
provision to satisfy biological and
sociological needs of people i.e. food,
clothing, shelter, protection, love,
security etc.
 Most fundamental characteristics of culture

It always tends toward integrating a
society:
There are so many features of cultural
complex, like it is learned behaviour
transfers from one generation to another
and its integrated nature.
 Other characteristics of culture :
 Culture is learned and acquire:
 It has to be understood that not all thing shared generally by a
population are cultural
 Culture is not instinctive.
 It is acquired by each person though the senses and from experience.
 Culture is shared and transmitted:
 It is shared by and is transmitted to and among the members of a
social group.
 Generally, man transmitted culture by means of ideas.
 Other characteristics of culture (Cont.) :
 Culture is social:
 Culture is a group product developed by many persons interacting in
a group
 It is social due to man natural tending of sociability and
gregariousness.
 Culture is dynamic:
This simply means that cultures interact and change. Because most
cultures are in contract with other cultures, they exchange ideas and
symbols.
 Other characteristics of culture (Cont.) :
 Culture gratifies human needs:
 An individual is likely to utilize habitually a cultural technique
which gratifies him in some way.
 Biological needs area components of culture
 Other characteristics of culture (Cont.) :
 Culture is adaptive:
 All culture is dynamic.
 They change over time.
 These changes may be in form of discoveries, inventions or culture
borrowing.
 Other characteristics of culture (Cont.) :
 Culture is cumulative:
 Though the ages, the people of any given place are able to retain
certain features of their culture that are significant in their
relationship and interactions with their fellow’s human beings.
 Trans generational:
 Culture is passed on from one generation to the next.
 Other characteristics of culture (Cont.) :
 Culture is Compulsory:
 The human beings consider the harmonious relationship with any of
group cultures being grown for a period of time.
 The group members of the conformed with the ways of living within
the bounds of beliefs, expectation and norms.
Factors which effects social and cultural
environment:
 Attitude of people:
Our attitude are favourable or unfavourable opinions
toward people, thinks or situations many thinks affect
our attitude, including our environment we were
brought up in an our individual experiences.

 Demographic factors:
Socioeconomic characteristic of a
population expressed statistically, such as
age, sex, education level, income level,
occupation, religion, average size of a
family.

 Religion:
Religion is a cultural of designated
behaviours and practices, morals,
worldviews, texts, ethics or
organizations that relates humanity
to supernatural or spiritual elements.
Factors which effects social and cultural
environment:
► Family
Family is a group of people related either
by consanguinity affinity, or co-residence
or some combination of these. In most
societies, the family is the principal
institution for the socialization of children.

environment:
► Language
The diversity of language among various
foreign countries is a source of many
challenges for multinational companies.
Nonverbal communication creates
difficulties for multinational companies due
of various meaning of its elements in the
separate countries.
Factors which effects social and cultural
environment:
►Technological Factor
In PESTLE analysis, technological factors
are variables which relate to the existence,
availability, & development of technology.
This could include things from
computational power to engine efficiency.
 Stages of cultural acquisition:
1. Period of excitement and euphoria over the new ness of the
surrounding.
► Fascination with the new culture.
2. Culture shock Differences between old and new culture
create anxiety.
 Stages of cultural acquisition:
3. Anomie Feeling of social uncertainty begin to accept the
differences
4. Recovery > First tentative and vacillating > Full recovery >
Assimilation or adaptation, acceptance self confidence in the
new "person".
