- 6. In 1922 I moved to Madrid to study painting. I was very eccentric. Look at my moustache, and my hen. I painted Basket of Bread, in 1926 In 1925 I had my f irst exhibition in Barcelona.
- 7. I moved to Paris and I join ed the Surrealist movement in 1929 . One of my most famous paintings is The Persistence of Memory (1931). The painting is sometimes called "Soft Watches"—it shows melting pocket watches in a landscape setting.
- 8. I decided to grow a moustache because it's better for the health than smoking . In 1929 I met my future wife Gala . She became my muse, lover, supporter and business manager.
