Adjective A word that modifies (describes) a noun!  Example:  1. The  tall  man was late for work.  2. The  beautiful  woman was shopping.  3. The  hungry  bear was growling.
Adverb A word that modifies (describes) a verb. States how something is done.  Example:  1. The man was running  quickly  up the  street.  2. The dog barked  loudly  at the mail man.  3. The woman  rapidly  left the store.
