Q. I know Veeam has a VM backup solution with Cisco HyperFlex™. Are there any other backup vendors?
A. Commvault is also supported.
Q. With Hyper-V, does that mean you are dropping VMware?
A. No, w e support both hypervisor options w ith Cisco HyperFlex 3.0.
Q. Are ReadyClones available only for Hyper-V?
A. No, ReadyClones are available w ith VMw are as w ell, but using a different technology (not offloaded data
transfer [ODX]).
Q. Does Cisco Intersight™ come with HyperFlex™? Is it free?
A. You can register w ith the Intersight™ base edition for free. How ever, there is some functionality that requires a
license. Your Cisco ID is used to log in. More info on licensing is here: https://intersight.com/help/faqs. All
HyperFlex functions – multisite monitoring, dashboarding, alerting, cross-launch, HyperFlex cluster installation,
multiuser management, etc. except one (HCL check) – are included in the base edition and are included w ith your
HyperFlex subscription.
Q. Are HyperFlex upgrades automated? How do they work?
A. Yes, you can upgrade the HyperFlex storage softw are along w ith an integrated firmw are upgrade. This upgrade
process is optimized to require only a single reboot. The entire process is orchestrated, helping ensure that all VMs
continue operating normally the entire time.
Q. What is the ballpark IOPS/latency for a stretched cluster? Up to 5 ms latency between the sites would
have a major impact on performance.
A. Stretch behaves very similarly to a standard cluster in terms of performance. 5 ms is the maximum, and w ith
