Major Indian telecom players include Airtel, Reliance, Tata Docomo, Vodafone, Idea, MTNL, and Aircel. Airtel announced a $60 billion investment in network transformation. Vodafone launched free data and roaming on 4G and is partnering with Huawei to test 4.5G technology to prepare for 5G by 2020. BSNL plans to install 21,000 new towers with a $1 billion investment.
