• What is a laparoscope?
• A laparoscope is a thin fibre optic telescope that is inserted
into the female abdomen to see the uterus, fallopian tubes and
ovaries.
• It play a major role in test tube baby.
Carbon dioxide (CO2) gas is placed into the abdomen prior to
inserting the laparoscope.
This lifts the abdominal wall and allows for some separation of
the organs inside the abdomen making it easier for the fertility
doctor to see the reproductive organs during the surgery.

• IVF may be used to overcome female infertility in the woman

the egg cell.
• This is used when sperm have difficulty penetrating the egg, and
in these cases the partner’s or a donor’s sperm may be used.
• Disadvantages:
• An expensive process
• Chances of multiple births
• May lead to production of many unwanted embryos
• Legal case may arise among surrogate and genetic mot
