Editor's Notes

  • #2 Every leader is born from a lady’s womb…Normally when it comes to the term of “Leader”, naturally comes a masculine image but there are great women leaders in the world…as a tribute to them we chose our topic.
  • #6 Passion – Margaret Thatcher had a passion for her country and for privatization and freedom. Her believe was that nations can only achieve prosperity and greatness by setting individuals free. This passion allowed her to fight for many key policies and gave her the strength to take up fierce fights, which she ended up winning. Determination – Her determination was key to her leadership. Lady Thatcher was happy to fight for what she believed was best for the country. She was not afraid to take on long and difficult fights with the Unions and with Europe. Her determination to stand up to tyranny helped to bring an end to the Soviet Union. Confidence – Margaret Thatcher exuded confidence when she was representing her country on any stage. This demanded respect and gave her a voice people listened to. Her confidence was a key quality that allowed her to not only to bring about change in the United Kingdom but in many respects influence policies across the world. Collaboration Leaders who think they’ve got all the answers cannot to be trusted. Fortunately, Margaret Thatcher knew the importance of listening to the opinions of others. “I love argument. I love debate. I don’t expect anyone just to sit there and agree with me – that’s not their job” is perhaps one of her most memorable quotes. Every leader must understand this principle.   Resilience Every true leader needs to rise from the ashes in order to inspire hope for others. This kind of resilience is illustrated in Margaret’s well known words “The fact that we are gathered here, now — shocked but composed and determined – is a sign not only that this attack has failed but that all attempts to destroy democracy will fail.” Rooted Beliefs Margaret Thatcher’s upbringing taught her the importance of self-help, charitable work and personal authenticity. Through the course of her decisions over the years, she was able to lean on those values as a moral and foundational compass. Leaders who understand their core values find success more painlessly
