The moon and Indian space exploration
The moon is Earth's only satellite, formed 4.5 billion years ago, and has no atmosphere or liquid water. It is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face, and completes an orbit every 27.3 days. Notable events include the Soviet Union's Luna program and NASA's Apollo missions, with Neil Armstrong being the first human to walk on the moon on July 21, 1969.
