• This crusade began because religious people
  from around the area told the soldiers that
  they needed to fight for their religion.
Who Fought?
• France and Germany fought against the Turks.
Where Did it Take Place?
• This toke place in Edessa, in 1145.
What Were The Effects of the
              Crusade?

• Discoveries: The crusade inspired the voyage of
  Columbus.
• Information: This Crusade was fought about who
  would have possession of the Holy Land, Jerusalem.
  It happened during the years 1147-1149.
• Economic Impact/Effects: People spent a lot of
  money on the crusade, and the winning side earned
  a lot of money. The church had a lot more money
How Did it End?
• The Second Crusade ended when the remains
  of the armies made a joint attack on
  Damascus and raised a siege, which closed the
  Crusade, but practically nothing was
  accomplished.
