- 3. Childhood&EarlyLife Tim was born in London, England in 1955 . His parents were Mary Lee- Woods and Conway Berners-Lee. His parents worked on the first commercially-built computer, the Ferranti Mark I . His primary education from Sheen Mount Primary School and London's independent Emanuel School. He studies atThe Queen’s College where he received his first-class degree in Physics in 1973.
- 4. Career He was appointed as an engineer at the telecommunications company. In 1980 he works on a project: a real-time remote procedure call. In 1989 writes his initial proposal of the Transmission Control Protocol and domain name system ideas:TheWorldWide Web (www). In 1991 the first web site built by him and was putted on line on 6 August.
- 5. MajorWorks His invention, theWorld WideWeb, is counted among the most significant inventions of the 20th century.The web revolutionized the world of information and technology and has opened up several new avenues.

Awards&Achievements 1995 The Software System Award. 1998 MacArthur Fellowship. 1999 Time Magazine names Berners- Lee one of the 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century in. 2004Order of the British Empire. 2006 President Medal. In 2009 he was elected as a member of the United States National Academy of Sciences. 2017Turing Award.
