• #3: Before we start our presentation, let’s take a look at the agendaOur presentation will be in three partsFirst, I will briefly introduce our mother company – Thai Nguyen University Then I will talk a little bit about Vietnam LRC networkAnd last, but most importantly I will bring you an insight into TNU LRC
• #4: TNU was established in 1994 based on the reorganization of a number of universities in Thai Nguyen province (Agriculture & Forestry University, Educational University, Medical University now Me, Industrial Technical University and Industrial Vocational School). It was founded as a part of the new development plan for higher education reform. TNU is known as one of the three regional universities in Vietnam, and it is the central hub for training, scientific research and technology transferring in the NMA of VietnamSlogan here means: “ Together we create new values”
• #5: TNU consists of 9 member college and schools. They are College of educationCollege of ScienceCollege of Agriculture and ForestryCollege of Industry and TechnologySchool of Economics and TechnologyCollege of Economics and Business AdministrationCollege of Medicine and Pharmacy Faculty of Foreign Language Faculty of IT ( will be promoted to be college of Information and Telecommunication Technology at the end of this year)In term of human resource, TNU has 90 full and associate professors, 250 doctors and 800 mastersTNU offer many different kinds of training program ranging from undergraduate to PhD. Currently it has 115 undergraduate program, 39 master program and 24 PhD program. TNU’s total student is about 78000 including 73 000 undergraduates, 5000 graduate and PhD candidates
• #6: Let’s move to the second part of my presentation.Now I would like to talk a little bit about Vietnam Learning Resource Center network.
• #10: The Thai Nguyen University – Learning Resources Center (LRC), is a service unit of Thai Nguyen University (TNU), it was established according to the Decision N0 977QĐ- TCCB dated December 31st 2007 issued by TNU President
• #13: Among 13 LRC Master, 8 were educated in U.S and one in India.

• #25: Library ServicesTN LRC ensures to provide you with best Information Services such as circulation-renewal, reserve-hold, providing subject specialist information, clipping service, information literacy, etc. Our IS staff and liaison team will be always with you on the way to conquer the world knowledge.Training ServicesTN LRC aims to be a centre providing complete learning experience and equiping necessary information resources and skills for the faculty, staff and students to get used to the development of progressive science and technology nowadays. Many of our staff are professional, experienced, talented and skillful teachers.Language ServicesLanguage Service is a top quality translation and interpretation, offered by a group of highly qualified and experienced translators and interpreters.Multipurpose Space HiringThe LRC has a number of auditoriums, conference and meeting rooms of different sizes with a full range of meeting equipment and services (audio/visual systems, translation booth, video conferencing system). Our facilities are designed for international and national conferences, seminars, workshops, conventions and business meetings.Other ServicesTN LRC also provide users with other interesting services like cafeteria, copying and printing, etc. With these affordable services, you will feel comfortable to use within TN LRC
• #26: Looking at the bar graph, you can see most of LRC patron are TNU students
• #28: For better exploiting its facilities and assets, apart from providing library and information products and services, TNU-LRC has been cooperating with a number of National and International educational institutes to open some high quality training programs for TNU’s students and local people around Thai Nguyen. This is a part of TNU-LRC sustainable development plan as this can help promote TNU-LRC’s brand name and imagine nationally and generate additional revenue for the center.
• #29: Since 2008, TNU LRC has cooperated with Hanoi Open University to offer undergraduate training program majoring in Business Administration, Accouting….Up to April 2010, the total student is about 700.
• #30: As a part of its strategic development, and to meet the high demand of society, LRC in collaboration with TNU college of science will offer a new undergraduate program in library and educational facilities management starting from 2010
• #31: TNU LRC has consistently been showing that it is the ideal place to organize a range of different seminars, workshops and conference. This picture shows you the national conference on Biotechnology held on November 2009
