Education
 Education is a mean to discover unknown from known.
 It is a continuous process in which a person learns
throughout his life.
 It enables the person to achieve development in personal,
spiritual ,mental , social and physical potential.
 It purifies mind and senses as well as enhances
intellectual and spiritual power.
 For example: a microscope (which is a known object) is used to explore or
discover unknown facts related to cells.
According to Chanakya (famous politician)-
”Education means training for the
country and love for the nation “
According to
Shankaracharya(famous vedantist)
“education is the realization of
self”
Etymology meaning
 The education is derived from different Latin
words :
 Edu care – It means “to bring up” , “to nourish ”
,”to raise”, “to train”, “to mold ” into desirable
form.
 Edu cere- It means “to bring forth” ,”to draw
out”, “to lead”, which implies education as a
process of drawing out that is within.

 Formal education is normally delivered by trained
teachers in a systematic way within a school,
college , university or academic or trade skills.
 It is provide under certain set of rules and
regulations.

Informal education
Informal education is learning anything of your own
interest.
For example people can informal education by reading
many books from a library or educational website

Learning from experience
Learning from surroundings
No certificates and degrees.
Non-formal education
 Non formal education involves time bound basic
education of aged or adult person.
 It include someone (who is not in school) can
learn literacy, other basic skills or job skills.

Open university course
Full time or part time learning
Time table and syllabus can be
adjustable
No age limit.
