This paper presents a modified high efficiency video coding (HEVC) algorithm that incorporates background modeling to enhance video saliency detection, addressing gaps in prior research on dynamic saliency prediction. By utilizing a fourth frame as a long-term reference and implementing coding blocks to streamline the coding process, the proposed method aims to improve compression efficiency and processing speed. Experimental results on the dynamic human fixation 1k (DHF1K) dataset demonstrate the reliability and effectiveness of the developed algorithm compared to existing state-of-the-art saliency detection methods.
