This document summarizes a study analyzing the physicochemical properties of pond and borewell water samples in Thethi village, Nagapattinam District, Tamil Nadu, India. Water is essential for life but 70% of India's surface water is polluted. The study measured color, pH, conductivity, TDS, hardness, alkalinity, chloride, and sulfate levels. Pond water samples met standards for construction use but borewell water exceeded limits for hardness, chloride, and other parameters, making it unsatisfactory and unfit for drinking. The borewell water is highly polluted while pond water is only suitable for construction based on analysis of their physicochemical profiles.
