Acts 9:1-19a marks a major transition in the Book of Acts. Acts began with a focus on the Jerusalem church. In chapter 8, Philip the Evangelist brings to gospel into Samaria. Saul's conversion sets the stage for the majority of Acts which describes the gospel's spread to the Gentile world. There are miraculous elements to the story of Saul's conversion. However, we also see a pattern to be followed and also how God used a very ordinary man, Ananias, in order to do his extraordinary work in converting Saul from madman to missionary.
