VirtualStor is a software-defined storage (SDS) platform that virtually aggregates, consolidates,
and optimizes all storage resources (SSD/ HDD, SAN, NAS, DAS JBOD) and provides
administrators unrestricted flexibility to compose storages that fit all environments and
applications.
 An all-in-one and scale-out platform
 Performance: 800,000 IOPS
 Throughput of 10 GB/s
 Latency of consistently 1 milliseconds
 Hardware form factor: 4 nodes in 2U chassis
 Spec per node:
 2 x Intel Xeon Scalable Processor
 256 GB Memory
 6x SATA SSD: [960 GB, 1.92 TB or 3.84 TB]
 Network 2x 10GbE and 1x 1GbE IPMI
 Add-on: Dual-Port 25/ 40GbE, Fiber Channel

Ceph FileStore VirtualStor Extreme
Minimizes Write Amplification (WA)
 Write amplification (WA) is an
undesirable phenomenon with flash
where the actual amount of data
physically written to the media is a
multiple of the logical amount
intended to be written. It will make
SSD life reduced.
 Compared with Ceph, VirtualStor
Extreme significantly minimizes WA to
1.05. Almost 7x extension of SSD
lifetime compared to other SDS.
Big Data
High Performance Computing, AI, Gene Sequence and Data Analytics
Rich Media & Multimedia
4K Media broadcasting, Surveillance, Online Training
Cloud Infrastructure & IT Virtualization
Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud, Server virtualization, Desktop virtualization
Electronic Design Automation
Scale to PB capacity and address, EDA software development workloads
User Scenarios
Other AFA/ SDS VirtualStor™ Extreme
Infrastructure is physically predefined and not agile
enough to meet changing business demands.
Software Composable Infrastructure. Virtual Storage
can be provisioned on the fly to satisfy various business
applications.
Only can storage data. Not able to migrate or consolidate
existing storage. Not able to be the cache layer for
existing storage.
Consolidate existing storage together with all flash.
Seamless migration old data to save TCO.
Traditional scale-up architecture with limited storage
protocols
Scale-out architecture with SAN/NAS/Object multiple
protocols in one cluster
Huge write amplification. SSDs easily wear out.
Minimize write amplification and offer much longer
SSD life by Bigtera storage I/O engine
High and variable responses. QoS bad.
High performance with very low and stable latency.
High Quality of Service.
Comparison with other All Flash Array/ SDS
• Provides NAS, SAN, and Object storage
to satisfy all application needs
• Provides standard iSCSI, FC, NFS, CIFS.
Compatible with AWS S3, OpenStack
Swift and Cinder RBD
Unify Storage Protocols
01
Compose your virtual storage from
the storage pool to meet your
business demands and use cases
Software Composable
02
• Consolidates empty spaces on existing
storage to build a new storage resource
pool
• Seamlessly migrates data from old storage,
with almost no down time
Consolidate and Migrate
03
High-performance with very low
latency response, and stable.
Low Latency Performance
