James Cameron is one of the most influential directors in computer-generated imagery (CGI). He helped pioneer CGI techniques like creating realistic water. His films Titanic and Avatar used extensive CGI and helped popularize its use in major motion pictures. Avatar had an estimated budget of $500 million and grossed over $2 billion worldwide, showing how CGI could be used on an ambitious scale.
