This document compares the virtual machine migration capabilities of VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V, focusing particularly on performance, stability, and impact on application performance. Testing shows that VMware vSphere's vMotion technology significantly outperformed Hyper-V's live migration, completing migrations up to 5.4 times faster and with less application disruption. Additionally, VMware maintained higher stability throughout the migration process, with no failure incidents, unlike Hyper-V, which experienced multiple failures during tests.
