Water Level Indicator Project
An Eco-friendly Smart Water
Management System
Engineering Project Presentation
Introduction
• • Water is one of the most important natural
resources.
• • Overflowing tanks waste water and energy.
• • The Water Level Indicator helps monitor and
control water usage.
Objective
• • To detect and display water levels in a tank.
• • To prevent overflow and save electricity.
• • To automate the motor ON/OFF process.
Components Used
• • Transistor (BC547) – acts as a switch
• • LEDs – indicate water levels
• • Resistors – control current
• • Battery (9V) – power source
• • Water Tank and Probes – for sensing
Circuit Diagram
• • Multiple probes are placed at different levels
in the tank.
• • When water touches a probe, the circuit
completes and LED glows.
• • Each LED shows the corresponding water
level.
Working Principle
• Water touches first probe → LED1 glows

(Low level)
• Water rises → LED2 and LED3 glow
2️⃣
• Full tank → Top LED glows and motor can

stop automatically
Advantages
• • Prevents water wastage and overflow.
• • Saves electricity and manpower.
• • Low-cost, reliable, and easy to install.
Applications
• • Domestic water tanks
• • Industrial liquid level monitoring
• • Agricultural irrigation systems
• • Municipal water supply plants
Future Scope
• • Integration with Arduino for automation.
• • Buzzer alert or SMS notification.
• • IoT-based remote monitoring through
mobile app.
Conclusion
• • Simple yet effective solution for water
conservation.
• • Helps save power, time, and the
environment.
• • A small innovation with a big impact!
