Who would be the audience for your media product?
My film starts off at a school and revolves around a teacher. But it eventually leads to him involving himself into crime. So I would think that my audience will be around the ages of 16 to people in their early 30’s.
I looked at other professional films to gain an idea for how to create this film. I looked at Half Nelson which is about a teacher who is also involved with crime. Half Nelson was a successful film so I used it to help me with the making of my film.
How did you attract/address you audience?
Pre-Production I created three questionnaires and handed them out before I started filming, to gain an idea of what the audience want. These questionnaires contained both quantitative and qualitative information. I used pie charts to layout my information so that I could see the information more clearly and draw out idea's from it.
Audience Research 1 This research gave basic information, as asked basic questions. An example is the question, do you like watching films? This kind of question can only lead to a yes or no answer
Audience Research 2 I asked more detailed questions to the audience, which gave me more detailed answers from them. I asked them a question about themes and issues and they gave lots of information, which played a vital role in the decision on what to do my film on.
Audience Research 3 For this research, I had already chosen what I would do for he plot and had already made a script. I made a small questionnaire asking some questions on what needed to be improved with my script. The audience gave me their insight, giving me reliable information to use in my film.
