This document proposes the design and construction of a wireless power theft detection system for Kumasi Technical University. Power theft is a major problem in Ghana, resulting in energy losses, power outages, and load shedding. The system will use radio frequency to detect power theft on distribution lines and send a signal to electricity suppliers to enable quick detection and response. The objectives are to design and construct a wireless system to eliminate power theft by indicating the exact location and line where theft occurred without human control. This will help maximize energy company profits while reducing human effort, imbalanced systems, and load balancing schedules. The proposed methodology includes a transmitting system, receiving system, and testing from May to October 2018.
