Unit G321 – Foundation Portfolio in Media – Photo-shoot Plan
Project title:
Project:
Project Description:
The first ever issue of my pop music magazine ‘Pitch’. I will compete against Top
of the Pops as I feel they have a similar target audience to mine. The
demographics for both Top of the Pops magazine and my magazine are also
similar, targeting people with little or no income. My magazine of inspiration
contains between 35 and 40 pages normally, so this is how many I will include as
well. I will also be competing with Billboard, as they also have a similar target
audience to my magazine. I will make my magazine cheaper than both of these
magazines I am competing with, to make my magazine more popular, and make
it appeal to my target audience.
Photographer:
I will take all the photos used in my pop magazine. I will take midshot images of
my model for my front cover, as this is what is seen on my magazine of
inspiration. I will use high key lighting so that the image is well lit and doesn’t
look too dark. I will use Photoshop in order to edit the photos, to get rid of any
imperfections on my model, and also to remove the background.
Reference images and ideas:
The verbal code “Pitch” relates to music, and would appeal to lots of music lovers
of different ages (especially my target audience). I think the name ‘Pitch’ sounds
quite girly and sounds like a pop magazine title because it is music related.
