The 3rd annual Student Journal Symposium for Literary and Research Publications will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 9:00 AM-4:30 PM (with a probable half day on Friday, April 24, from 11:00 AM-4 PM), as a HYBRID event, at the George Washington University.
Our entire team is returning to co-organize and plan this year’s Student Journal Symposium, after our successful second year: we heard from 34 undergraduate and graduate student journals from 28 universities in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. You can find a write up of last year’s symposium in SSP’s Scholarly Kitchen Blog; the schedule, presentation and panel recordings, and slides are available on the 2025 Student Journal Symposium website.
Our goal is to create community and dialogue with student-led journals on areas of common concern and interest. We welcome speakers from literary, research, specialized, and law journals at the undergraduate and graduate level to the symposium, including students, faculty, administrators, librarians and others involved and interested in student journals.
We encourage you to speak and attend in person, but we understand this is not always possible. We are unable to defray travel expenses and recommend you inquire with your university for travel support funding. Presenters who are unable to travel to the conference site are able to present virtually. The 2026 conference will be held in person at the GW Arlington Education Center. Lunch will be provided to in person attendees.
Please see the Call for Panelists and Presentations.
