Loved it so much! We came for breakfast on Labor Day and you can see that it's a hot spot in town. Our friend, who recommended the spot, arrived early and grabbed us a table (around 8am), but by the time we left around 9am, there was a big crowd waiting outside. The restaurant itself is a decent size, with more space in the back than you'd expect, and it has a classic breakfast place vibe.
I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito with Christmas style sauce, and it was sooooo good! Definitely a fork and knife burrito since both ends are open/ The flavors of the chili together were spot on, hearty for the green, smoky for the red, and feels like a New Mexico breakfast. The portion was also generous, I definitely didn't finish my food and the glass of orange juice was big!
Our waitress was funny and kind and kept things moving smoothly despite how busy it was. Food was quick and I was impressed from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. Really good food and lovely service!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 5, 20251 check-in
Came for lunch, stayed for the fried sopapilla! I love that they serve it with your meal so you're not too full to enjoy it at the end. Drizzle it with honey and thank me later! Unfortunately, I can't handle spicy food, and in New Mexico, everything comes with red or green chile. Still, I really enjoyed my Santa Fe plate, which included a blue corn enchilada and a taco, while my husband ordered the Frito pie. We ordered all our dishes with the chili sauces on the side.
We arrived about an hour before closing, and they had already run out of tomatoes for our dishes, so it felt like something was missing, but everything still tasted great. We also shared a side tamale just to try one, and it was delicious.
I wish we'd come earlier to try the breakfast menu that served only until 11 a.m., but lunch was satisfying. We waited about 25 minutes for a table for two on a Saturday and it was definitely worth it!

I love the buzz and ambience in this restaurant! Feels like I'm eating at someone's house but it is actually a business. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's homely.
Didn't have to wait to be seated as it's spacious and lots of seating available.
Food came quickly. I ordered the ham, cheese guac and sausage omelette with Christmas sauce.
My husband had the Christmas burrito, it's giant!
Both were delicious! Must come if you're here to visit and have only 1 meal in townHelpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 16, 2025
Had on Ok breakfast at Tia Sophias this past weekend. I thought the food was quite good and worth trying again; I enjoyed the green chile in particular. The place was full with a medium wait time, testimony to its popularity. The interior is nice, hasn't been updated in a while- nothing fancy or trendy. The service was a bit touch-&-go IMHO. It was friendly enough, but it might have been an off day.

My three-month-old daughter Izzy and I went to Tia Sophia's for breakfast today, and when I stood up to change her, a kind woman named Vanessa showed me to the family bathroom with a changing table. When we came back, I realized she'd quietly canceled our check.
It turns out Vanessa and her husband own the restaurant. She told me she remembers these sleep-deprived days well and gave me some encouragement. She even told me to stay as long as I needed while I fed Izzy and offered me a to-go coffee.
So, shout-out to Vanessa and Tia Sophia's for having big hearts and fantastic breakfast burritos!

We had a delicious lunch here a month or so ago.
The restaurant is super cute, staff are friendly, and the food is amazing.
We had the chile relleno lunch specials and everything was mouth wateringly tasty. Wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often!

Good place for breakfast. We first tried on Labor day Sunday but the line was around the block. Not too busy on a Tuesday. Nice server. Very good coffee. I had eggs and toast with hash browns, bacon and beans. The wife got the same but with fried baloney. She loved it, go figure. The friends had pancakes with blue corn meal. Sorry no pics.

Tia Sofias is a delicious spot for breakfast and lunch. We were greeted and seated during the lunch rush and felt welcomed and well taken care of from start to finish. With honey on the table, our server took our order and brought hot sopapillas to start. We're accustomed to having sopapillas for dessert, but here, you can have this rare and delightful treat before your meal, during and after. So we did! Wow! Sopapillas are served piping hot, crispy crust, pillowy soft inside, thick enough to support a generous pour of honey. We decided that it was OK to get sticky and enjoyed every bite!
We love the NM decor and the gallery of famous cartoonist Ricardo Caté is a great tribute to his work and funny!
Hubby chowed down on his enchiladas, loved the green hatch Chile sauce, beans and moist, flavorful, rice. My Chile rellenos were SO good! I love the thick fluffy batter, rich hatch Chile sauce. Not sure if they were poblanos or Pasillas, but nice and spicy! We devoured the last half of our sopapillas drenched in honey for the crowning glory to our great meal!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 9, 2025

Carl makes Tia Sophia's so iconic. We love Carl and all his recommendations, stories, etc. I'm so glad we came here. The food is awesome and I highly recommend the stew!! I forget the name of it but it is so good. We also had their homemade sopapillias, enchiladas, stuffed sopapillias etc.
Dined here twice specifically for their lunch menu. The Christmas is the way to go, the green is nice but omg that red salsa is iconic.
Old school super casual establishment. No need to get super dressed up or anything. Very friendly staff cute old school interior.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
