The main objective of this study was to develop a strategic learning and development framework that can be used as a business solution. A quantitative research approach was followed with data gathered from learning and development specialists from across the globe (N= 463). Two sets of self-developed questionnaires were administered which measured the current versus the importance of learning and development factors. The results showed a mediocre application of learning and development practices. Gaps existed between the current application of learning and development practices and the importance thereof. Recommendations are made.
