Hotspots & Parrot
Visit from a hotspot or another repeater
To reach our linked network from your hotspot or any other Brandmeister repeater, just use TG 311340. You'll come out on all of our machines at once, plus the affiliated linked repeaters.
Test your audio with the Parrot
Make a private call to 9990 using your radio's direct dial / private call feature. When you un-key, your audio is played back to you after a few seconds. The parrot works on both time slots.
Sample Metro Atlanta codeplugs for common radios are in the files section of the BSRG Facebook Group.
APRS & Text Messaging
APRS
All of our DMR repeaters support APRS digital position reporting.
Text messaging (SMS)
Brandmeister was built to route DMR text messages, and we allow and encourage text messaging on all BSRG repeaters. A message sent through a BSRG repeater is routed by Brandmeister to the repeater and time slot where the destination radio was last heard. Delivery isn't guaranteed, but it's fairly reliable as long as the other radio is on and hasn't changed frequency since it last transmitted.
| Send this text | To private ID | You get back |
|---|---|---|
| RPT | 262994 | A list of all talk groups currently active on the repeater (static and dynamic listed separately) |
| WX | 262993 | Current weather at the repeater site: temperature, wind, pressure and more |
| WX 30060, US | 262993 | Weather for that zip code and country |
For these features to work properly, you may need to create a Brandmeister account and set your radio type on the SelfCare page. Different radio brands encode text messages differently, and this lets the network format messages correctly for your radio. More advanced SMS features (GPS info, more weather info, etc.) are documented on the Brandmeister blog.
