JRC Security Research and Innovation Campus - Bridging the gap between operations and research

Show transcript

Natural and human-made disasters,

cross-border crimes,

hybrid threats, and more,

challenge our security every day.

How can we bring together

EU security experts and researchers

to co-design innovative solutions

for a more secure Europe?

The JRC Security Research & Innovation Campus

bridges the gap between operations and scientific research.

Launched at the Joint Research Centre

of the European Commission,

this initiative strengthens ties between scientists, EU agencies,

national and international organisations and research institutions

operating in the security field.

It offers them access to world-class laboratories

and multidisciplinary research teams at JRC sites

through trainings, placements and hosting agreements,

as well as data exchanges and joint events.

The Security Campus is about strong cooperation.

It supports the EU’s security and resilience

under six key security pillars.

border management;

internal security;

crisis management;

nuclear security;

defence;

and space, connectivity and quantum.

The JRC Security Research & Innovation Campus

will empower law enforcement bodies,

border security authorities and other actors

to innovate, anticipate,

and overcome today and tomorrow's challenges,

helping to build a stronger and safer Europe for everyone.
